The Municipal Works Directorate is complying with the mandate of President Nayib Bukele by advancing in the remodeling and reconstruction of schools such as the El Ciprés farmhouse, in San Miguel, within the framework of the innovative educational reform “My New School”.

The executive director of the DOM Álvaro O’Byrne, the Minister of Education José Mauricio Pineda, the mayor of San Miguel Will Salgado and the deputy Vanessa de Calderón, verified on Wednesday, January 18, the works in this municipality in the eastern zone that, like many other places in the country, they were never a priority in past governments.

The new school center will have one and two-story buildings that will have a management area, teachers’ room, classrooms that will include kindergarten, a multipurpose room, dining room, kitchen, cistern, bathrooms, and a general-use plaza will be remodeled. .

In the El Ciprés hamlet and in compliance with the mandate of President Bukele, the DOM has hired men and women for this project in this place, totaling around 95 people to date.

The government plan, launched by the president on September 7, seeks to erase once and for all the disastrous administration of past governments and begin a true transformation of education from teacher training to school infrastructure.

The objective is to remodel 5,150 schools in a period of five years and the DOM will first carry out works in 480 public educational centers, while more than 60 will be in charge of the Inter-American Development Bank that will change the lives of students throughout the country.
