Dozens of stolen works found in Denmark

COPENHAGEN.- The Danish police were investigating the theft of a bicycle when they found dozens of construction of art stolen at the end of March from a crowd in Copenhagen (Denmark), the authorities reported today -June 12-.

In the Danish capital, more than 17,000 bicycles were stolen in 2023 and many citizens place GPS trackers to track their vehicles.

Bicycle trail leads to stolen works

One of these devices led the police to a raid and instead they found several electric bicycles and scooters, which were presumed stolen, and works of art stolen from an art gallery on March 31, the police said in a statement.

Between 20 and 30 works by artist Kristian von Hornsleth were stolen in a violent robbery in which the thieves used a vehicle to enter the gallery.

The agents managed to recover about 14 pieces, the artist reported.

During the raid, two men, ages 32 and 40, were arrested; The police are investigating how the works of art were obtained.
