Apparently a lot of material from an alpha version of the upcoming Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been leaked.

The video surfaced about Reddit – and can still be found elsewhere on the Internet – but was deleted there again. Although the description of the 20-minute video was preserved.

What was there?

Who really none spoiler wants to read should perhaps draw a line here.

“A kind tester shared his recorded gameplay of DA4, which was in early alpha at the time,” writes the post’s author.

“I saw what was recorded before the person was moved to another project. No, I will not share the video as the person in question asked me to. And until I have their permission it will remain private. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble so she needs to let me know it’s ok and nothing in the video would backfire on her.”

More Dragon Age: Dreadwolf news:

The footage itself appears to show only the “Grey Warden Headquarters in Weisshaupt”. The fights are therefore “real-time with similarities to a hack’n’slash”, with God of War from 2018 being a reference point.

There are combos and of course skills that you can perform. The latter use a special energy bar that regenerates.

It was not possible to control other group members here, which is why the author considers it likely that it will not be possible in the finished game either. Although this here, and you should keep that in mind with everything, is only an alpha version in which features can still be missing.

“The most immediate thing you’ll notice is that the animation quality has improved DRAMATICALLY,” adds the author. “Probably not a big deal for any other AAA title. But we’ve never seen such good animation quality in a BioWare game. I haven’t actually played it, but I can say that it probably feels really good, to control the character. No more stiff animations, it’s all very smooth and seems very responsive too.

It is also possible that your character can jump. And the “player character’s hair looks glorious,” it says. Well then.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been in development since at least 2017, with a specific release date yet to be announced.
