Announced several years ago, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is still waiting! Unfortunately, bad news comes to impact the development of the title…

A departure after nineteen years of good and precious services

As reported by our colleagues from the Eurogamer media, Mac Walters, now a former member of the studio, recently announced his departure from the company. This true industry veteran served as production manager for the next installment in the Dragon Age franchise. In the past, he has also served as writer on Jade Empire and lead writer on Mass Effect 2 and 3.

You will agree, this is a great loss for the teams, especially when we know that Walters had been employed at BioWare for more than nineteen years. In order to pay tribute to these former colleges, he still wanted to show his gratitude and joy for having participated in such projects:

As some of you already know, at the end of last year I decided to leave BioWare. The past 19 years have been a life-changing experience to say the least, and it has made it very difficult to choose. I’ve worked with so many great people and had the privilege of being part of the most amazing teams and projects. It’s hard to figure it all out, and I know I’ll be thinking about it for years.

If we look a little closer at the Linkedin profile of Walters, we see that he seems to have taken a break in his career and would therefore not be employed by another studio. Of course, we don’t know the name of the person who replaced him…

Anyway, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is indeed still in development and will appear on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at an as yet undetermined release date.
