After a building fire in a residential area of Dubaiin which a large number of immigrants live, at least 16 people died and nine were injured, authorities said.
It took firefighters just six minutes to reach the Al Ras area of Dubai, where an apartment on the fourth floor of a building began to catch fire at around 12:30 noon on Saturday.
However, the rescuers could not prevent the tragedy that took the lives of 16 people, although they managed to evacuate nine injured people alive and put out the fire after two hours of fighting.
Although the investigation is not yet complete, preliminary information indicates that the fire started from the violation of safety regulations by the property owner.
