Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels won a new trailer that shows a little more of the story and the tone adopted by the film that will try again to bring the world of role-playing games to the screen. The idea is to make it clear that the purpose of the film is to recreate the light atmosphere of a game, mixing the adventure with many jokes and situations that do not take the plot so seriously.

This approach was already present in the first trailer, but it becomes more evident here. In the more than two-minute video released by Paramount, we see Chris Pine giving life to this bard who, for some reason, starts to lead a group of adventurers composed of barbarians, mages and rogues and who embarks on a very important mission: to prevent the end of the world they themselves created.

As it becomes clear here, this group of “rebels” — who are actually thieves, contrary to what the national title suggests — went on a mission and stole a mystical artifact for a red wizard who wants to dominate the world with an army of living Dead. Now, seeing the size of the mess, they need to recover the object before it’s too late.

However, this task is just the backdrop for what most calls attention in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels. The true charm of the adaptation seems to be in the good humor of its script and the charisma of its characters — not by chance, many people see in this structure a resemblance to Guardians of the Galaxy, by Marvel. And, from what the trailer shows, this more outlandish dynamic has everything to work.

Another highlight of this trailer is how Honor Among Thieves uses all the mythology of Dungeons & Dragons. It is possible to see several classes and races, as well as different types of magic and monsters. For those who spent afternoons and afternoons in long RPG campaigns, you will recognize each one of them.

In addition to Chris Pine, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels also features Michelle Rodriguez (Fast and furious), Regé-Jean Page (bridgerton), Hugh Grant (Glass Onion), Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu) and Sophia Lillis (It: The Thing).

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels hits Brazilian theaters on April 13.
