Early voting begins today

Early voting for elections in our city begins today. Voters will decide who will be their representatives on the City Council, among other races.

The polls are open this weekend from 9 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon. Early voting extends until next Sunday, November 5, and voting hours vary depending on each day.

Polls will be closed on Monday, November 6. Local election day is Tuesday, November 7.

All 51 City Council seats are up for grabs. The districts were redrawn last year after the 2020 national census.

Voters in Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island will also elect their district attorney. Only Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz will face a challenger.

There are also some judicial races on the ballot.

Likewise, voters have two questions to answer on the ballot, both of which have to do with local debt limits. Specifically for schools and sewer facilities.
