The security services of the wilaya of Algeria have established preventive security plans on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr of this year. These plans include measures to protect and watch over the safety of citizens.

Horse and foot patrols in high-traffic places such as markets, mosques and cemeteries are scheduled. Of the police formations will also be deployed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on main and secondary roads, with effective surveillance through security cameras installed in streets and public places.

Awareness campaigns have also been conducted to prevent road accidents and promote safety. The main objective of these measures is to preserve public order, public peace, public health and road safety, while protecting people and public and private property.

Development of forest sites in Algiers

As part of the capital’s green plan, the wilaya of Algiers has launched a redevelopment of five forest sites to transform them into spaces for walks and leisure.

The work will be completed during the summer season and sports and leisure equipment will be installed in the forest sites of Carob tree in Dély Ibrahim, Diar El Afia in Bourouba, Saliba and Beaulieu in Oued Smar, as well as the Beni Merad 2 forest in Bordj El Kiffan.

The city of Algiers has a vast forest cover of 5,000 hectares, including 113 forest sites managed by the Directorate of Forests and the Green Belt, which contribute to the local and national economy by creating socio-economic dynamics and jobs, as well as offering sports and leisure activities.
