Sonora, Mexico.- A 9-year-old boxer dog named “Chato” attended the judicial hearing in which its owner, Juana N, was linked to the process, accused of mistreatment and animal cruelty against the dog in Etchojoa, Sonora.

The State Prosecutor’s Office reported that the dog remained attentive and calm for an hour and ten minutes that the process against its previous owner lasted, who allegedly kept it in a vacant lot, without water or food.

“The judge authorized the individualization of the 9-year-old male boxer dog, brown in color, for him to participate, so for an hour and ten minutes he remained calm and attentive.

“Let’s remember that he was rescued in a search action on February 11 by elements of the Criminal Investigation Ministerial Agency (AMIC), derived from a citizen complaint; he was outdoors in a vacant lot in Colonia 14 de Febrero, in Etchojoa,” the FGE explained in a statement.

The specimen presented anguish, stress, thirst, sunstroke and malnutrition; His ribs were visible, so he was treated for 40 days at an animal shelter called Cashitos de Esperanza, located in Huatabampo.

The woman now linked to the process will take her process free, however, during this time she will not be able to leave the place of residence.

“‘El Chato’ looks playful and happy,” the Prosecutor’s Office concluded.

It is possible that the Chato is given up for adoption, however, it will be the authorities who are in charge of assigning it to a person who is responsible for the specimen.
