Toluca, Mexico.- Teodoro García Simental, alias “El Teo”, and former leader of the Tijuana Cartel in the north of the country, received medical attention at a Toluca hospital by order of a federal judge.

“El Teo” is considered responsible for a large part of the violence and murders registered in the Baja California border area since 2008 and known for being in command of subjects such as Santiago Meza López, called “El Pozolero”, for the method in which who disposed of his victims, dissolving the bodies in caustic soda.

García Simental had filed a complaint for the omission since January 2022 within the Federal Center for Social Readaptation No. 1, “El Altiplano”.

The capo, who was an ally of the Arellano Félix, had requested the protection of the federal court to receive medical attention, however the judge dismissed the appeal, considering that García did not specify the condition for which he required attention.

With the new determination, he was transferred to the Adolfo López Mateos Hospital, where a strong police siege was implemented with the presence of the military and the National Guard.
