Hard to believe, but From Software’s hugely popular open-world action RPG Elden Ring is soon celebrating its first birthday. As with many other titles from the development studio, Elden Ring is far from over, as Hidetaka Miyazaki explained at the Game Awards 2022. The team still has a few ideas they would like to implement in the game, and winning the Game of the Year award has definitely encouraged them in this endeavor.

When is the first DLC coming to Elden Ring?

In fact, fans were pretty sure that we can expect an announcement or a direct release of the first DLC or a major update at the Game Awards itself. However, the announcement came in the form of Armored Core 6, and while an update was released, it was primarily aimed at PvP players who are now allowed to show off their skills in the Coliseum.

Publisher Bandai Namco then gave hope again in an e-mail to all fans of the role-playing game, according to which we would be “soon” for news about Elden Ring (buy now / €53.99 ) may look forward to. The well-known insider Lance McDonald, who probably has a high hit rate with his predictions in connection with From Software, now provided a clue as to what this news could be exactly.

On Reddit became a Screenshot of a conversation shared on Discord, in which McDonald stated there would be a “huge DLC” for Elden Ring in development. Furthermore, he probably knows a lot about the content of the expansion, but nothing about any new gameplay mechanics. Finally, the leaker again emphasized that Elden Ring’s first DLC will be “really big”.

Such a DLC would certainly be a good way to celebrate the role-playing game’s first birthday, but it’s already coming up in a few weeks. Whether there is still enough time for an announcement and release is of course difficult to assess. If the leak turns out to be true, we can probably expect the first DLC for Elden Ring later this year.
