The decline of the Cuban regime and the fight for freedom

Much of the world has been living in suspense and great uncertainty regarding the electoral process of the sister nation of Venezuela. We have all been aware of the expressions of international solidarity and also among each of the promoters of peaceful and democratic change against the prevailing dictatorship.

Humbly and in full awareness of what I have experienced in accompanying the anguish of a people in exile, I believe that today it is extremely important and prudent to support the popular will of a nation that has spoken forcefully at the polls. Our Venezuelan brothers have peacefully expressed their desire for freedom and the defense of Human Rights.

The international community, and especially the OAS, must pay close attention to the tactics that the regime will use to intimidate good citizens so that they do not protect their vote and the truth. International organizations and those defending human rights must not remain on the sidelines regarding what is happening in Venezuela, because that would be approving lies on a scale that is deeply irreparable for the region.

The irregularities that occurred in some polling stations and were denounced by the opposition in the early stages are a thermometer of a shamelessly conscious mafia that did not want to acknowledge its loss in good faith. The lack of consistency on the part of the government cannot be accepted by the international community, because it would be an extremely regrettable event with irreversible political consequences.

This brief analysis is to encourage our Venezuelan brothers and sisters to peacefully defend their democracy. We know that the struggle for freedom and dignity is not easy, but it is not impossible for those of us who trust in truth and peace. Today you deserve to be freed from the yoke of the oppressor and to live in freedom as children of God. Our Lady of Coromoto protects the Venezuelan nation and all the children who today want to live in full freedom.
