The Secretary of Energy announced the seasonal programming of the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM) for the period May-October, which contemplates a 31% reduction in the subsidy for users with greater economic capacity (level 1) and also for surplus consumption of 400 kwh monthly for those of medium level, while the beneficiaries of the social rate will not have modifications. In this way, about 30% of residential users (about 10 million people) will no longer have the help of the national State to pay their bills. This increase is added to the increase in gas, which will average 25% in residential customers
The measure was embodied through resolution 323/2023 published on Tuesday in the Official bulletinwhich in fact implies an average impact of $3,000 on the bills of users included in the segment with family incomes greater than three and a half times the Total Basic Basket (CBT) of a four-member household, which is currently equivalent to to $669,298.17 per month.

How is the subsidy reduction
