Another day, another new twist in the drama of Elon Musk as CEO of Twitter. A few days ago we reported how the executive had ended up firing a member of his staff after concluding that his popularity was declining within the social network he bought.
And now everything seems to indicate that the team that survived that meeting would have implemented some extreme measures to improve the numbers of reach and positioning of their boss.
Since reports of multiple users began to emerge on the platform where Elon Musk’s publications began to appear in their feeds out of apparent nothing, even if they do not follow said account.
This seems to be part of an immediate reaction with the intention of improving the impact metrics and analytics of Elon Musk’s official account, but it is possible that it is something much more complex.
To explain it, it is necessary to go back a little further to review the background that can give us a clear indication of what is happening.
Why does everything Elon Musk post appear on my Twitter account even if I don’t follow him?
This whole mess began after a series of reports from other Twitter users who directly attacked Musk on his own social network to notify him of a curious phenomenon, where his scope per publication skyrocketed if they made his account private.
The very logic of this phenomenon sounded like something contradictory, due to the inertia of any social network, the publications of accounts that are not private would have a greater impact.
So Musk made his account private for 24 hours to discuss the issue. In the evaluation meeting of the collected data, it was concluded that its scope had decreased in large part because its popularity was no longer so high and the algorithm reacted to it.
This situation was the one that would have caused the dismissal of a member of the Twitter staff and now, according to reports from The Verge More and more Musk posts began to appear among Twitter users in the “For You” section:

Elon himself has spoken about the matter on his social networks and has taken advantage of the situation to even share memes about this situation where his own account started appearing all over the community feeds.
