Ai development is going too fast and can lead to uncontrollable consequences. That’s what the authors of the open letter that was published a couple of weeks ago aimed at pausing the development of the next advanced GPT model meant. One of the signatories to the letter belonged to billionaire Elon Musk, who with both ambitious ventures and critical statements about artificial intelligence may seem to take an ambivalent approach.

Chronicle: 5 reasons to fear Chat GPT – dangers we must not close our eyes to

Between Microsoft and Google, there seems to be some kind of race going on in developing advanced ai models and offering these to the public to some extent. But Elon Musk will also invest in the area. He reiterated that in an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson (via Reuters). At the same time, he criticized the company Open AI, which is behind the chatbot Chat GPT, for having “allied” with Microsoft through the companies’ collaboration on the Bing search engine.

In the interview, Musk also claimed that Open AI’s chatbot is being trained to lie. He also says he is serious about starting Truth GPT to challenge Google and Microsoft. Instead of behaving destructively, the Truth GPT would seek to understand and harmonize with the universe, which would reduce the risk of creating a kind of super brain that threatens to wipe out humanity.

Elon Musk mentioned Truth GPT in one Twitter posts already in February. Last month, he started a company called X.AI Corp. In the interview with Tucker Carlson, he admitted that the venture comes a bit late, but that he will do his best to create a sensible alternative to protect humanity. We expect a new sound in Elon Musk’s ai bark shortly.
