Elton John sets a new record with his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” farewell tour. As stated by the music magazine Billboardthe British artist has earned more than 800 million dollars thanks to his concerts around the world, and thus signs the most lucrative tour in history.
With this record, Elton John dethrones singer Ed Sheeran, who had generated more than 770 million dollars thanks to his tour “The Divide Tour” in 2019. Before that, it was the Irish group U2 who held this record.
The hit-and-miss British megastar’s tour is also the first to top the $800 million mark, according to Billboard.
Three dates in Paris in 2023
Started in 2018, then postponed due to the pandemic, this farewell tour includes 300 concerts around the world, 278 of which have already been performed by Elton John. During his recovery in 2022, the British artist notably performed in Paris in June.
This summer, the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” is due to pass through the capital again with three dates scheduled at the Accor Arena in Paris on June 21, 27 and 28, 2023 before ending in Stockholm on July 7 and 8. Elton John has also been announced as the headliner of the British Glastonbury festival where he will perform on June 25 for his “ultimate concert” in the United Kingdom.
