Eminem returns with premiere of the song Houdini

MIAMI.- Eminem returns to the music scene with Houdini, a new single that accompanies with a video.

The American rapper teased the release earlier this week through a FaceTime with illusionist David Blaine: the clip ended with the magician eating a glass of wine.

Houdini is produced by Eminem and features a sample and interpolation of the Steve Miller Band’s 1982 hit, Abracadabra. The clip imagines Eminem’s antagonist character, Slim Shady, emerging in the present day through a portal where he is confused and disturbed by what he sees in 2024,” the production detailed in a statement.

Proposal that recalls Eminem’s productions

“Determined to shape the modern era into a place more suited to his unique vision of the world, Eminem embarks on a mission to do exactly that. Only the rapper’s alter-alter ego, Rap Boy, can save the world from Shady, along with with his long-time mentor, the legendary Dr. Dre. In an effort to neutralize these nefarious actions, things go awry and an unholy hybrid version of Eminem is created,” the production added.

Directed by long-time collaborator Rich Lee (Not Afraid, The Monster, Venomamong other topics), the video clip of him Houdini recalls Eminem’s audiovisual productions as Without Me, de Joseph Khan y Phillip “Real Slim Shady”, de Atwell.

Houdini offers fans a first taste of what Eminem’s 12th album will be, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grce), that will be on the market soon.
