Enrique de la Madrid will continue in the race for the presidency: "I don't get off"

MEXICO CITY (proceso.com.mx).– Contrary to the expectations that he had generated on the day, Enrique De La Madrid Cordero, who was Secretary of Tourism during the six-year term of Enrique Peña Nieto, announced that he will not get out of the process of selection of the candidacy of the opposition bloc Va por México.

The politician, son of former president Miguel De La Madrid Hurtado, had announced this Sunday morning that he would give an “important message” in the afternoon, which sparked rumors about his possible resignation from the selection process, as they did before him. To become a candidate, De La Madrid will have to gather 150,000 signatures on the electronic platform that will enable the PAN-PRI-PRD bloc for the internal contest; In case of bringing them together, he will appear in a forum, from which three pre-candidates will emerge. Subsequently, they will face each other in debates, until the people registered on the platform choose their candidate for the 2024 presidential elections.
