Mexico City.- Enrique Iglesias announced that he has pneumonia, a reason that will prevent him from going to Mexico as part of the Tecate Emblema Festival, this Saturday, May 13.

“Dear fans, much to my regret it will be impossible for me to perform at the Mexico show tonight. I have pneumonia and the doctors have advised me to rest completely and prohibited me from getting on the plane.

“I am frankly sad for what the cancellation of this show means in a country that has given me so much. I hope to recover quickly and be able to be with you again in top form very soon. I apologize and send a big hug to my fans”, revealed the singer in one of his Instagram stories.

The Spaniard would be the star of the Saturday festival day, for which he anticipated surprises, such as new songs.

“I am very excited and also nervous to see the public again in Mexico. This is where it all started, where I feel happiest is on stage, and I love being able to interact with the public, especially the Mexican one.

“They have always treated me as one of them and that is something that I value a lot and it motivates me to work hard to give them an excellent show and that they have a great time,” anticipated the interpreter of “I Like It” and “Bailando.”

The festival will continue at the Hermanos Rodríguez Autodrome with a lineup that includes figures such as The Chainsmokers, Belinda, OneRepublic and Mel C.
