Some find it “mega cringe”, others are delighted.
Stefan Raab’s ex-“show intern” Elton (52) made his big appearance on Saturday evening: at the ESC he was allowed to present the German jury points at the ESC – instead of Barbara Schöneberger as usual.
All of Europe (and Australia) looked at HIM, now knows the nice gray-haired guy with the glasses, who awarded the 12 points for Germany. Elton only had a few seconds to moderate. After all, 37 countries had to present their points.
Elton used his airtime with an eye-catcher that not every viewer understood. While most of them probably had big question marks on their foreheads in front of the TV, it was a wonderful treat for all series fans: Elton flirted with them ESC-Moderatorin Hannah Waddingham (48) – and in a special way.
THE moment: Elton pulls out a box with a biscuit. Hannah Waddingham’s face shows enthusiasm, co-moderator Graham Norton is rather surprised
The Briton not only led her through the Grand Prix evening in an incredibly charming way with her three colleagues, but is also known as a series star. She stars alongside Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso, playing his boss Rebecca Welton.

So far so good. What does that have to do with Elton? Well, he seems to be a Ted Lasso fan. Because while he was awarding points, he pulled out a small pink box – and bid Hannah Waddingham a cookie. In case you’re one of those viewers who didn’t get the scene, Ted Lasso offers actress Hannah a homemade sponge cake every morning in her role as Rebecca Welton.

Waddingham looked a little puzzled because of Elton’s strange ESC scene, but then smiled briefly. Co-host Graham Norton nearly lost his faith, scolding Elton, “It’s jury, not Tinder!”
Alesha Dixon (44), Julia Sanina (32), Hannah Waddingham and Graham Norton (60) lead through the spectacular music evening. Not only do they announce the candidates with a lot of enthusiasm, they also bring a lot of wit and charm to the show
Incidentally, Ted Lasso bought his boss’s favor with the biscuit gesture in the series. The candy trick didn’t work at the ESC: Germany lost again and ended up in last place.
