In connection with TV 2’s humor venture, popular comedian Espen Eckbo (49) will start at TV 2.
Eckbo is known from a number of comedy successes, including Asbjørn Brekke Show, Nissene på Låven and recently Nissene i bingen. The latter was nominated for an Emmy award last year.
The comedian has previously been on TV 2, and now he is returning.
– Huge universe
The transition involves developing new humor concepts for the channel. In addition, there will be opportunities for viewers to see Eckbo’s previous successes on TV 2 Play.
– TV 2 will have a leading position in humor in the years to come, and this is one of our most important content initiatives. With this, we want to attract a combination of both young talent and the most experienced humorists in Norway, says TV 2’s program editor Kathrine Haldorsen in a press release.
– With his enormous universe, Espen Eckbo is one of the very largest.
The comedian is looking forward to this.
– When TV 2 wants to invest so clearly and ambitiously in exactly what I do, it is very nice to be invited to contribute. I look forward to working with and for all the good forces that have already gathered here, says Espen Eckbo.
– I look forward
However, it is not just repeats of previous successes that can be shown again to viewers.
– We should not rule out that there will be new versions of previous comedy successes. It will simply be incredibly fun to work with Espen in the future, says Haldorsen.
– The entire TV 2 comedy community and not least our viewers, have every reason to be happy that Espen is now back in the TV 2 family.
