A few hours after the announcement of the forthcoming closure of Rumbleverse, the developers of Velan Studios also communicate the end of the experiment of Knockout City.

Launched in May 2021, the free to play will end its journey in early summer, with the servers closing down for June 6, 2023. Described as a “difficult decision, but necessary for the study“, the stop at Knockout City however, it will not be total. Over the next few months, Velan Studios will indeed publish on pc a version of the game compatible with private servers. On Steam, fans will thus have the opportunity to continue challenging each other on the fields of free to play.

To celebrate the last months of life of Knockout Citythe authors will make available the Season 9 of the game. The latter will start on 28 February 2023 and will last for a total of twelve weeks. From the same date, Velan Studios will deactivate the microtransaction system included in Knockout City. In any case, the last weeks of the title’s life will offer new cosmetic elements, celebratory playlists and many special events, including a specific focus on League Play.

Debuted as a premium product, Knockout City had become free to play in February 2022. Evidently, however, the format change was not enough to guarantee its long-term sustainability.
