A Roborock patent recently made the rounds. That showed a robotic vacuum cleaner with two rotating rollers. In addition to a laser radar and ultrasonic sensor, the sketches in the patent also show a camera on the front. Nothing new, because Roborock already uses a camera called ReactiveAI in the MaxV models for obstacle avoidance.
Roborock now has a new product in a photo showing the same camera for January 4, 2023 announced. The slogan “Forget cleaning” clearly indicates a new vacuum robot. That smells heavily like a successor to the current flagship.
So we can probably expect the first details about the Roborock S8 MaxV at CES 2023. Last year there was news about the S7 MaxV at the same time.
As described in the patent, the new robot should be equipped with two wheels, let’s wait and see where else Roborock drills the model. It is also quite possible that the station in the Ultra model is equipped with a hot-air dryer ex works.
