The latest iOS update includes bug fixes and security updates that resolve issues with iCloud, Siri, Find My, and crash detection.
Apple’s security notes indicate that this latest update fixes an iPhone bug that may have been actively exploited. Apple writes that the bug affects iPhone 8 models and later.
The update could also fix an iCloud issue that some users experienced after the release of iOS 16.3. Some users on Reddit And Twitter said they haven’t been able to back up to iCloud since the previous update was released.
Another issue that iOS 16.3.1 might fix is with crash detection on the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models. Crash detection has helped alert first responders to some car accidents, but it was also triggered when some users go on a roller coaster ride with their phone.
