The unfortunate candidate of the “Star Academy” 2022, seen recently in a sequence of “Lol: who laughs comes out” which has gone viral, should soon return to the shelves of record stores.

It’s the return that no one saw coming: thanks to a remarkable appearance in the reality TV show LOL: who laughs comes out, Georges-Alain Jones has been back in the spotlight for a month. This unfortunate (but striking) candidate of the Star Academy 2002 evokes in the columns of the Parisian the possibility of a musical return, with a new album.

It was during a concert in Montrouge (Hauts-de-Seine), Thursday evening, that the 48-year-old artist confided on a daily basis on this project which he himself did not expect:

“The album was not supposed to be released. But I have dates coming up. May 26 in Levallois-Perret. And concerts in the Southwest this summer. And I tell myself that having too many dates without going out the titles are completely stupid”.

And to give some information on this new disc: “We made a mix, with the pieces of the first album New Jersey (his first album released in 2005, editor’s note), but also the latest titles and three covers. Everything is already recorded.”

Georges-Alain Jones had already mentioned this musical return on Instagram last November. The disk should be called Parallel World. The release date is not yet known.

New notoriety

Georges-Alain Jones marked season 2 of the Star Academy, tele-hook of TF1, by taking on the role of the sympathetic and nonchalant dunce. His performance on A gamer of Las Ketchup, which he had sung live on the prime without having retained the words, is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic moments of the show.

Since then, the artist has retired from the music scene: “I was a sports journalist for Canal +, Eurosport, SFR”, he summarizes with the Parisian. I also did backline (installation of instruments on a concert)delivery of instruments, I was a driver, I did everything.”

After fifteen years in the shadows, Georges-Alain Jones was remembered by viewers in March with an appearance in season 3 of Lol: who laughs comes out, a program from Prime Video in which celebrities try to make their opponents laugh in order to achieve victory. One of the candidates, Laura Felpincalled on him for a sketch, which made social media tour.
