Totally made to “explore” the “unexplored”.
Inexpensive clones of the Apple Watch are widespread and sometimes available in new designs before Apple releases the models. After the presentation of the Apple Watch Ultra, it was clear that manufacturers with little concern for patents and property rights would quickly follow suit with a clone. In the case of the Apple Watch Ultra, the first offering gets by India (via 9to5Mac) and has the flowery name “Cosmos Engage” – an optical 1-to-1 copy of the Apple Watch Ultra for the equivalent of 45 euros.
Pebble Cosmos Engage: This is all just stolen
The company with the name Pebble – not to be confused with the once successful smartwatch manufacturer of the same name – had previously shone above all with offering more or less bold copies of smartwatches. With the Apple Watch Ultra clone, they seem to have finally lost all inhibitions and not only copied the design of the product, but also seem to have taken many of the product images directly from Apple and watchOS 9.
Pebble promises the blue of the sky
Design stolen, marketing copied? Then you can also claim that the 45-euro device is of course just as suitable for exploring extreme locations as the Apple model. Pebble promises a device with a “shockproof metal housing”, but a look at the rest of the allegedly built-in hardware should definitely make you suspicious at this price.
