Lhe new NBA Cup, called ‘In-Season Tournament’, already has its first games. They will be held on November 3 and the start will be big: Bucks-Knicks and Nuggets-Mavericks. The first day, in addition to the aforementioned matches, will also include duels Cavaliers-Pacers, Wizards-Heat, Nets-Bulls, Warriors-Thunder and Grizzlies-Blazers.
When is it played?
The dates for the tournament dispute will be the friday november (3, 10, 17 and 24) and the last three Tuesdays (14, 21 and 28). Each team in each group faces the other three, with two games at home and two away. Those games will count toward the regular season. There will be 65 games in total.
Group composition?
The 30 teams will participate divided into six groups (three per conference) with five teams in each group. The distribution of the franchises to make up these groups has been based on last year’s record of each one, remaining as follows:
West To: Grizzlies, Suns, Lakers, Jazz and Blazers
West B: Nuggets, Clippers, Pelicans, Mavericks, and Rockets
West C: Kings, Warriors, Timberwolves, Thunder and Spurs
This one to the: Sixers, Cavaliers, Hawks, Pacers, Pistons
This B: Bucks, Knicks, Heat, Wizards and Hornets
This C: Celtics, Nets, Raptors, Magic and Bulls.
Who qualifies?
The best of each group they advance to the quarterfinals and the best classifieds (best win/loss balance) of each conference that have not entered directly.
The final phase of the Cup will be in Las Vegas
The best eight will play the tournament in December in Las Vegas, in the purest style of the CBA Cup. Single match and the winner advances to the stage.
Incentive for players?
The players on the winning team will each receive $500,000, while the runners-up will get $200,000. The players of the losing teams in the semifinals will receive 100,000 and those who fall in the quarterfinals 50,000. There will be a tournament MVP award.
