On January 23, an online information evening on the voluntary service of the European Solidarity Corps (ESK) will take place.

Victoria Hollerer (19) from Dornbirn currently lives in Latvia. She is doing a ten-month ESK voluntary service there and works in a local kindergarten. She plans and organizes activities such as game mornings, festivals, sports games, learning support and much more. When Victoria Hollerer moved to Gulbene, a small town in Latvia, in early September, she had little idea of the small Baltic state.

In the meantime she has got to know and appreciate the country and its people. “I’ve already had the opportunity to get to know the exciting culture and a lot of great new people, be they other volunteers or local residents. It has been a valuable experience so far and I’m looking forward to the rest of my time here,” said the young woman from Dornbirn. She is happy to share her previous experiences with interested parties as part of an online information evening on the ESK voluntary service, where she will be connected live from Latvia.

The voluntary service of the European Solidarity Corps (ESK) offers young people between the ages of 18 and 30 the opportunity to work in a non-profit organization in Europe for up to twelve months. The costs are covered by the EU funding program European Solidarity Corps and the host organization. The aha supports and accompanies the project preparation and during the assignment.

As part of the information evening, there are not only insider tips from Victoria Hollerer, but also information from Yvonne Waldner from aha. She accompanies volunteers on their way abroad and can answer all questions about the process, possible uses and costs of an ESK volunteer service.

The meeting will take place online on Zoom – off For organizational reasons, please register at www.aha.or.at/event/esk-jaenner.
