Since the beginning of 2022, exports of ceramic products in Batna have amounted to 26 million dollars, according to statements by the wali of Batna, Mohamed Ben Malek.
The same official explained during his supervision of the launch of a ceramic export operation from the Draa Ben Sbah activity zone in the municipality of Tazoult to the State of Lebanon, that the realization of this value of exports came after the completion of 26 export operations to many countries, such as Italy, Great Britain, Canada, Tunisia and Libya, Mauritania and Senegal.
Ben Malek estimated that ceramic products are at the forefront of exports made through the wilaya since the beginning of the current year, adding that the wilaya of Batna currently has 11 ceramic production units, pending the implementation service of five other units in the first half of 2023.
Currently, these establishments provide, as mentioned by the Wali of Batna, more than 4,000 permanent jobs, with the hope of reaching 12,000 permanent jobs after the commissioning of the five new production units.
It should be noted that it is the company “Alpha Ceramics”, which since the beginning of 2022 has been able to export ceramics to the tune of 4 million dollars, according to its director, Amin Maala, who also pointed out that the company aspires to achieve an export turnover estimated at 8 million dollars within one year.
The record figure for Algerian non-hydrocarbon exports in 2022
During the first eleven months of the year 2022, Algeria exceeded the 6 billion dollar mark in terms of non-hydrocarbon exports, according to statements granted by the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, on the sidelines of his visit to the Algerian production fair. The first head of the trade sector in Algeria indicated that the success achieved is the result of the efforts undertaken by the State.
He also said that the figure achieved is a boost for the Algerian economy to achieve other goals. As a reminder, the government plans to reach 15 billion dollars of non-hydrocarbon exports in 2023. And therefore be able to diversify the products intended for export.
