The government continues with its crusade to reach inflation for April with a number that is ahead of 3, as the Minister of Economy Sergio Massa said. And one of the main actions by which it seems to be decided is the control over food prices. After the controversy that unleashed among businessmen the support of the Truckers union to verify that the goods are delivered in large supermarkets, now the Secretary of Commerce has advanced with the issue of fines.
The Ministry of Economy adjusted the values of the fines for establishments that fail to comply with the program.
Current legislation calibrates the sanctions to an equivalent between 0.5 and 2,100 Total Basic Baskets (CBT) for a household made up of a married couple and three minor children, whose last measurement in December was $121,420.
In this way, the maximum fine to be applied is about $47 million in the case of a wholesaler who sells above the prices established by the agreement.
