Since 2021, the Prime Video platform has offered a new program in France called “LOL: Who Laughs Comes Out“, moderated by the excellent Philippe Lacheau. The reaction of the Amazon group was not long in coming, through a press release signed with a “spokesperson” of the American giant. “Madame Blanche Gardin’s statement posted on social media contains false and inaccurate comments about Amazon. Amazon indicates in particular that it paid 1 billion euros in taxes for the year 2021, with a declared turnover of 9 billion. Amazon thus wants to be in the top 100 of the most tax-paying French companies. The American giant also reconsiders its ecological commitments, and recalls its desire to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040, that is to say 10 years before the objective of the Paris agreement.
