The TF1 channel treats this holiday eve by broadcasting Guardians of the Galaxy 2 tonight at 9:10 p.m. Released in 2017, this film, directed by James Gunn, managed to keep the quirky spirit of the first part, while infusing some novelties. Here are 3 good reasons to (re) see this feature film.
Guardians of the Galaxy and the MCU
In Guardians of the Galaxy 2, we follow colorful characters including Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and his teammates Groot, Rocket, Drax, and Gamora. The film takes on a special destination as Peter Quill meets his father, Ego. Despite this moving side, James Gunn’s feature film also relies heavily on humor and the chemistry works very well between the different protagonists of this endearing band.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 also fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). We will avoid spoilers here but there is a real challenge for the continuation of this great story that we let you discover.
A five-star cast
This is undoubtedly one of the great strengths of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 : its distribution. Alongside Chris Pratt, we find Zoe Saldana as Gamora, but also former wrestler Dave Bautista who plays the endearing Drax. You may not have recognized it, but Bradley Cooper doubles as the Rocket Raccoon, while the legendary Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell slip into the shoes of Stakar Ogord and Ego.
As noted above, the film is from James Gunn, a veteran filmmaker who has just taken over the cinematic universe from Marvel competitor DC Comics.
A popular film
With 869 million dollars collected at the worldwide box office, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is a great success. It is besides what is worth to the film to be entitled to a third shutter currently diffused in the cinema. Overall, viewers loved this entertaining production, as evidenced by this 4.1 out of 5 rating on Allocinated. Same trend on Rotten Tomatoes (87%), or even at Metacritic (7.8 out of 10).
The press generally appreciated this film less than the first part, even. One thinks in particular of this criticism of the Hollywood Reporter : “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is like a second roller coaster ride, which was a real pleasure the first time around, but now looks very worn. »
