MIAMI.- The halftime show of Shakira in the final of the CONMEBOL Copa America United States 2024 left a lot to talk about, and fans of the football and the performer expressed their disappointment on social media, where they not only rejected the shortness of the performance, but also criticized the fact that the artist dubbed her songs.
Amidst the chaos that was generated during the entrance to the Hard Rock Stadium and after the delay that this caused, many expected that the performance of the singer from Barranquilla would dazzle as it has done in the past in other sporting events; in addition to being the first time that the organization authorized a show musical at half time of this tournament.
“Get ready to feel the greatness in a show that will make the continent vibrate!” said Conmebol when announcing that the Colombian would be performing.
However, for many the presentation left only disappointment.

Shakira sang for just seven minutes, despite the fact that CONMEBOL gave her 10 minutes to perform. The organization did not want the 15-minute half-time period in soccer matches to be extended.

After the performance, it was revealed that Shakira was allegedly not focused on the show because hours earlier her father, William Mebarak Chadid, had been admitted to a medical center again due to his deteriorating health.

There is currently no further information on the condition of the 92-year-old man, who less than a month ago was admitted to the emergency room in Barranquilla due to his vulnerable condition.
In 2023, Shakira confessed that during their separation, her father suffered an accident in Barcelona which caused his health to deteriorate.
“Everything came together for me, my home was falling apart. I found out in the press that I had been betrayed while my father was in the ICU. I thought I wouldn’t survive it all. The man I loved most in my life, my father, was leaving me when I needed him the most, but I couldn’t talk to him or receive the advice from my best friend that I would have needed so much,” she said.
