A brush fire started this Tuesday in the Mentone area, a town located near Yucaipa, in San Bernardino County.
The fire named Nice has burned about 67 acres and has not been contained as of yet, CalFire reported.
So far there are no structures threatened by fire. Operations to put out the flames are expected to continue through the night, according to CalFire.
CalFire reported at 3:35 p.m. that the fire is “fast-spreading” and has the “potential to burn 200 acres.” Currently the fire department has a ground and air response with tanker planes to counter the flames.
Details about how the fire started were not immediately available.
