Police continue to search for the suspect who they say fatally stabbed a man at a subway station in Washington Heights.

The uniformed officer responded to a call about a stabbing inside the 175th Street station just before 6 p.m. yesterday. Johnny Medina, 40, was found with multiple stab wounds to his torso.

According to police, the suspect and the victim got into a dispute on the mezzanine of the station, but the reason for the altercation remains under investigation.

Medina was taken to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) issued a statement stating:

“This was a senseless attack that spread from the street to the subway, and we are providing full cooperation in the investigation, confident that the NYPD will quickly identify and arrest the perpetrator.”

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
