Rumors of Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard leaving have been circulating for several months. Although the Frenchman regularly gets minutes, he is dissatisfied with the position in which coach Julian Nagelsmann uses him.
The 26-year-old usually plays as a right-back. But he doesn’t see himself there. Pavard would like to play much more as a central defender and be responsible for organizing the Munich defense. However, the signing of Daley Blind as a replacement for the long-term injured Lucas Hernández (torn cruciate ligament) can be seen as a further sign that Pavard is more likely to be on the outside.
