Moments of great tension were experienced during the last hours, after a group of residents of Villa Montoro set fire to a house in which, according to reports, there was a “holding-place for criminals”. The episode occurred last Tuesday afternoon at 118 between 97 and 98, and prompted the intervention of the Fire Department.
According to the fronters, people dedicated to committing robberies in the neighborhood would live in the place, in addition to other criminal activities. Fed up by the proliferation of these events would have led the inhabitants of the area to set fire to the material house.
The truth is that, in this situation, the personnel of the Villa Elvira Fire Station had to intervene, due to the magnitude of the fire that almost took the neighboring homes. After two hours of intense work, they managed to control the focus.
Likewise, the agents of the Sixteenth police station were summoned to carry out the necessary procedures. As stated, there were no injuries, although the material losses were total. No arrests were made either.
