The Undersecretary of Human Rights, Population and Migration, Alejandro Encinas Rodriguez and the governor of Sinaloa, Ruben Rocha Moya inaugurated the third meeting of the National Technical Coordination for Harmonization and Application of the Alba Protocol in Mazatlán, as well as the Women’s Justice Center in the same locality.

Encinas Rodríguez stressed that “Sinaloa is becoming an important benchmark for the implementation of public policies that allow coordination and joint work between the different levels of government.”

In addition, the owner of the National Search Commission (CNB), Karla Quintana Osunaexplained that the construction of the Alba Protocol takes up various international standards regarding the elimination of discrimination against women and the disappearance of women.

He also stated that according to data from the National Registry of Missing and Unlocated Persons (RNPDNO)Of the 111,000 people reported as missing, 25 percent are between 15 and 25 years old. In addition, of the 165,000 people who have been located and most of whom have been found alive, the age range also ranges between 15 and 25 years.

In the same way, Fabiola Alanís Sámano, head of the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women (Conavim)recognized the work of groups to search for missing persons that work in difficult conditions.

The Women’s Justice Center is located in one of the areas with the highest rates of violence against women, in the municipality of Mazatlán. Data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) realize that in 2022, 20 femicides were committed in Sinaloa; but none in Mazatlan.
