The FIFA 23 Team of the Year campaign has just gone live, with the simultaneous launch in the Starter Eleven, Twelfth Man and Honorable Mentions packs, but there are already those who are thinking about the future of Ultimate Team: if all goes as planned, after TOTY there will be Future Stars.

That of Stars of the Future is a campaign well known to all FIFA players, which should start immediately after the end of the Team of the Year event, therefore at 19:00 on Friday 3 February launching in Team 1 packs. For the uninitiated, perhaps because they started playing the EA Sports simulation this year, Future Stars cards reward the best emerging talents under 23 years old who, despite having already shown great potential, have not yet established themselves as world stars. Cards typically feature a significant performance boost, based on how much value Future Stars could achieve at the peak of their career.

The first leaks by FUT Sheriff also anticipate the return of the Stars from the Future Exchange Tokens. Typically obtainable in limited numbers (last year the maximum was 28) through Squad Building Challenges, Objectives, Squad Battles and Packs, the tokens can be exchanged for prizes such as Future Stars Player Items and various packs.

Who will get a Future Stars card? The list is obviously still unknown, but based on what is possible to see in the international championships, among the eligible candidates there could be Jamal Musial of Bayern Munich, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Naples, Youssoufa Moukoko of Borussia Dortmund, Rico Lewis of Manchester City and Wilfried Gnonto of Leeds United. Who are you betting on?
