You want to get started on Final Fantasy VII first of the name, but you have trouble because of the technical and artistic limitations of the time? Or would you simply like to rediscover this flagship opus in a new light? The Tsunamods team is here for you. The team of modders has been working for several years on a colossal project, in order to offer a voice to the entire cast of the most cult Final Fantasy of all time.
The most famous Final Fantasy
At the start of 2023, Final Fantasy VIIis about to celebrate his birthday. The seventh installment of the most famous J-RPG sagas was first released in Japan on January 31, 1997. An important date therefore, for all fans of the exceptional adventure of Cloud and the AVALANCHE team. Almost 26 years later, millions of sales, a spin-off, an animated film and a series of remakes, FF7 enjoys legendary fame, a game now considered one of the greatest exponents of the genre and the best installment in the Final Fantasy saga.
If a large number of players have discovered or rediscovered the title through Final Fantasy VII Remake, the original version of the software has not fallen into disuse. However, after 26 years, it is certain that the Square game (which became Square Enix in 2003) revealed all its secrets and now shows the weight of the years. An observation that the Tsunamods Team wishes to remedy with their project.
The voices of FF7
At the dawn of its 26th anniversary, Final Fantasy VII first of the name is still relevant. The software is available on most platforms in its original version, with its mechanics, scenario and graphics of yesteryear. However, it will soon be possible to give it a little makeover with this new mod.
The Tsunamods team has been working for several years now on a titanic project which consists of bringing full voice acting to the very first version of the game. In the spirit of software and “retro” productions, the Tsunamods Team will soon be offering its Echo-S 7 mod in order to offer a voice to the entire cast of FF7.
Scheduled for January 13the ECHO-S 7 project is the first in the ECHO-S series. Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX are expected to receive the same treatment as their sibling at a later date.
