Juarez City.- The Animal Welfare Center will work without raids against stray dogs, said yesterday the head of Ecology, César René Díaz, at the official delivery of the property by the State Health Secretariat. The previously called Ciudad Juárez Anti-Rabies Center will continue with the vaccination, sterilization and care scheme for aggressive animals.

“There will be no raids, here we are going to continue working on complaints, there are many complaints, there are many stray dogs; They are also dogs that require a second chance, among them there are some that become packs that are already a danger to the public, but in those cases we will act based on the regulations, but above all the complaint, we do not want to become ‘dog hunters’ everywhere” stated the head of Ecology.

“Let people know that a new era of animal welfare is coming in the city, we have the will to do things well and we are going to do it in collaboration with veterinarians, rescuers, associations and business groups to support us,” added Díaz.

The official also commented that 10 inspectors were hired, who were trained by the Sanitary Jurisdiction II and vaccinated to prevent them from contracting some type of disease.

There are also five units, of that amount, two are under repair, one is an ambulance and the other two are pickups; the vehicles have special boxes to transport animals, said the head of Ecology.

For his part, Diego Pugio Hernández, head of the Department of Animal Welfare, commented that the center’s operations will begin on April 17, which has a capacity to house 120 animals, and will have 15 people for its operation.

“There have been many attacks, there have been many injured people; It is something that we are going to focus on, it is about rescuing animals from the street, sterilizing them, treating them if they have any type of injury, and sterilization is what will allow us to move this whole project forward, both here and at RAMM , is what has made us move forward ”, mentioned the head of department.

“Here is not a center where animals are going to be abandoned, here is a center where the need for the problem is really going to be addressed, but they cannot come and abandon them, and remind them that the best way for citizens to help us is denouncing,” said Pugio Hernández.

PAN councilor Alma Edith Arredondo Salinas reported that the delivery of the Animal Welfare Center is intended to provide a better quality of life for pets.

He mentioned that they met for more than six months at work tables, they had meetings with activists, state and municipal authorities.

He indicated that next Tuesday an extraordinary meeting will be held in the Cabildo by the Ecology Commission, where they will receive the owner to present the work plan that he will implement for the Animal Welfare Center.

Dr. Rogelio Covarrubias Gil Lamadrid, medical director of the North Zone, indicated that he is certain that the canine center will operate in accordance with regulations.

“We trust that the tasks of the Animal Welfare Center will be carried out as soon as possible, as closely as possible to the regulations; We are certain that this canine control center will work as it should,” said Covarrubias Gil Lamadrid.

The delivery of the physical property was after an agreement was signed on March 24.
