The large US manufacturer Bissell has recalled various models of its dry and wet vacuum cleaners for Germany. The company announced this on its company website in the middle of the week. A check revealed that the affected devices could catch fire.

The devices with the following model numbers are affected by the recall: 3566N, 3569N, 3570N, 25821, 2582N, 2588N, 25881, 2582E, 25882, 25883, 25884. Exceptions are models with a “MACHINE” sticker. These have had their battery replaced and do not pose a threat.

In rare cases, some battery management circuit boards may experience localized overheating, which can pose a risk of overheating and fire. According to Bissell, no injuries have been reported so far, but the affected devices should no longer be used.

Batteries may be defective – stop using the devices

According to Bissell, the model number can be found on the back of the water tank. The number is listed in a large black bar on the product information sticker. If you have one of the affected models at home, you should proceed as follows:

  • Remove the vacuum cleaner from the charging station
  • Stop using the device
  • The company below +49 41022143005 from Monday to Friday from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. or via that online contact form to contact

According to Bissell, you should no longer use an affected wet or dry vacuum cleaner even if it continues to function normally. In any case, you should not try to repair the damage yourself. Repairs may only be carried out by certified service personnel.
