The Municipal Health Department will keep 540 vaccination points open until 5 pm this Saturday (5) to vaccinate the population against the flu. The disease has a higher incidence in autumn and winter, and immunization aims to avoid serious cases, which can cause hospitalizations and death.

Since Friday (5), vaccination has been released for all age groups over 6 months, going beyond the priority group composed of the elderly and professionals from sectors such as health and education. In the adult population, the vaccine has only one dose, but the protection needs to be updated every year, due to the mutations suffered by the influenza virus.
