When the boat sinks, shipwrecked passengers and employees must weigh the pros and cons of returning to their normal lives. Ruben Östlund delivers here a social satire and a representation of the bourgeois class which pleased many spectators. Applause which earned him, in addition to the Palme d’Or, nominations for the Oscars, the Césars and the Golden Globes, this year.
