It’s been over 13 years since The night of the demon (Insidious) It hit theaters around the world to terrify fans of the genre and create a franchise that kicked off a new wave of horror on the big screen. His new chapter is titled The night of the devil: the red door and in addition to marking the debut of its protagonist Patrick Wilson as a director, it is also the film that will conclude this saga.
Preparing for the imminent end, Sony Pictures has released a first trailer accompanied by a new promotional poster announcing its release on July 7. For this closure, the original cast led by Wilson, Rose Byne and Ty Simpkins, who give life to the Lambert family, return for this new adventure. Along with them also return Andrew Astor and Lin Shaye.
In this installment number five, the protagonists must put their demons to rest once and for all. To do this, Josh (Wilson) and a college Dalton (simpkins) must delve deeper than ever into The Further, confronting their family’s dark past and a host of terrifying new terrors lurking behind the red door.
Sinclair Daniel and Hiam Abbass also participate in the feature film. The film is produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Leigh Whannell. The script was written by Scott Teems from a story by Leigh Whannell, based on characters created by Whannell himself.
“I am honored and excited to be at the helm of the next installment. of insidious, which provides an incredible opportunity to unravel everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices,” Wilson said in a statement at the start of production. “Directing the film is a coming full circle moment for me, both professionally and personally. I am grateful that they trust me to continue telling this terrifying and disturbing story.”
In an interview for the promotion of Seriouly Network, Byrne spoke about his return to this franchise 13 years after he made the first part. The actress also talked about working with her co-star Patrick Wilson, who in addition to starring in the upcoming part, will also direct the feature film. It is logical that Wilson is in charge of this project after helping James Wan in various horror projects as its protagonist.
“He is very down to earth. He has children and a family, and he is a great professional. He has been doing it for a long time. He is James’ muse in many ways. He has been in every one of his projects. It seemed natural that he wanted to continue the story. He worked very hard on the script for a long time. We had the pandemic, but we started talking about it in 2019. So, I was already working very hard on it then,” he said.
The red doors throughout the movies the night of the devil yesThey serve as gateways to the lairs of the great villains of the first two films and as paths to one’s own afterlife. It is partly because of the red door that the Lambert family has been so brutally persecuted for many years. The initial two installments were written by Leigh Whannell and directed by James Wan, centering on the Lambert family and their terrifying struggles deep within The Further. The most recent, The Night of the Demon: The Last Key, premiered in 2018.
