On Carnival Sunday, February 19th, 2023, cowboys, Indians, musketeers, princesses, clowns, dwarves, rockabillys from the Lochau guild Berg, harlequins from the Hörbranz guild Berg and many other masked churchgoers were to be found in the Hörbranz parish church. The service started with a “parade” with Princess Simone, Prince Hubert, the Hörbranz Robbery Knights, the Hörbranz Children’s Guard and Pastor Roland “Trenti” Trentinaglia, which the Leiblachtal shawms played sonorous in the sanctuary. This Sunday morning, well prepared by the children’s service work group, a big fool’s mass was celebrated in Hörbranz. The church was almost full to the last seat and the fair was colorful and funny with children, followers and the royal couple. The fact that the popular pastor “Trenti” also told jokes during the sermon rounded off the literal fool’s mass. The Leiblachtal shawms created a carnival atmosphere in the church with their unique instruments, the middle school pop choir under the direction of Gabi Fink sensitively framed the service with their voices. In addition, “Trenti” was awarded one of the coveted orders of princes.
Thanks are due to the organizers of the fool’s fair, with such “ecclesiastical highlights” the church in Hörbranz stays alive and shows itself close to the people.
