In the ZDF three-part series “Yesterday we were still children”. Julia Beautx (23) two weeks ago an average of 5.5 million viewers. She has also been seen alongside Simone Thomalla (57) in the ZDF series “Frühling” since 2018.
But now want the youtube star give up his stage name for acting and act as an actress in the future under his real name Julia Willecke.
“I’m just trying to establish my real name,” says the 23-year-old to BILD am SONNTAG. “I still identify with Julia Beautx, but by the time I’m 35, the surname wouldn’t be so good anymore.”
On Sunday evening (8:15 p.m., ZDF), Julia can be seen again alongside Simone Thomalla (r.) In the TV series “Spring”.
She chose it herself at the age of 14, “when I had too much time in physics class. But at the time I didn’t really think about what that could mean for my future career. And at the time, I didn’t want my real name to be known either.”
She was already interested in acting at school and attended workshops at the Bochum theater. But simply uploading a few videos to YouTube was even more interesting for Julia Beautx back then. “I never expected in my life that something so blatant would come of it.”
Today, with almost 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube, 3.5 million fans on Instagram and almost four million on TikTok, she is one of the most successful influencers in Germany.
But her great success on social networks is not the reason that she is also booked as an actress. “A lot of people think influencers get their roles just because of their reach. That might have been the starting shot, but no serious leading roles,” she is convinced.
After all, talent and ability have nothing to do with range. “Originally, I was only intended for a supporting role on ‘Yesterday we were still children.’ A convincing casting then gave me the lead role.”

Outside of acting, she wants to continue appearing as Julia Beautx. For example, starting next month at “ let’s dance“, where she is one of the 14 celebrity candidates.
