Palmeiras reduces the advantage that the leader Botafogo has in Brazil

Washington, Aug 21 (EFE).- The US authorities said Monday that they are investigating Ford’s response to a recall of 48,924 units of the Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle after receiving several complaints that the problem has not been solved.

The problem affects the vehicle’s battery contactor, an electromagnetic component that functions as a switch for high-power electrical circuits, which can overheat.

Overheating of this key battery component can cause electric vehicles to suddenly and completely lose power while on the road.

Ford detected the defect in 2022 and issued a recall in June of that year to fix the problem with a software update that lowers the voltage if contactor temperatures rise.

The company also later replaced a battery component.

But the US National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) published on its website on Monday the opening of an investigation into the recall after receiving 12 complaints from Mustang Mach-owners. E that the problem persists.

The affected vehicles were produced between May 2020 and May 2022 at Ford’s assembly plant in the Mexican town of Cuautitlán. EFE
