Former dancers sue Lizzo for harassment and hostile work environment

Singer lizzo is involved in legal problems, since three of her former dancers are suing her for sexual and racial harassment, as well as for creating a work environment hostile.

According to legal documents, provided to People By the plaintiffs’ legal team, the lawsuit was filed Tuesday morning in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the singer, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson. Besides, the lawsuit includes her production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., as well as the captain of Lizzo’s dance team, Shirlene Quigley.

The accusations against Lizzo

In accordance with Peoplethe dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, point out in the lawsuit that Lizzo pressured them to play nude artists while at a club called the Bananenbar in Amsterdam: “Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching the dildos thrown from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas that protruded from the performers’ vaginas.”

According to Davis, Lizzo “began to pressure her” to touch the breasts of one of the nude performers, even though the dancer “expressed her desire not to touch the performer.” According to the lawsuit, that same night Lizzo allegedly “pressured the security guard to get on stage at the club until he submitted to her demands.”

The suit also accuses Quigley, captain of Lizzo’s dance team, of making proselytizing everyone around her, shaming those who had premarital sex, and “oversharing her masturbatory habits and sex life with her husband.”

Lizzo was also accused of mocking Davis’s weight. The dancers also stated that faced racial harassment by BGBT management, who allege that he “treated black members of the dance team differently from other members.”

“The BGBT management team was made up entirely of white Europeans who often accused the black members of the dance team of being lazy, unprofessional and having bad attitudes”the lawsuit says.

Davis and Williams, began performing with Lizzo after competing on her reality show Amazon’s ‘Watch Out for the Big Grrrls’ in 2021, the lawsuit says. They were later fired. On the other hand, Rodríguez was hired after acting in Lizzo’s video ‘Rumors’ the same year, according to the lawsuit, but resigned in early 2022.
