Four days after the disappearance of Michel Cordes, star actor of More beautiful lifefound dead by firearm at his home at the age of 77, the emotion is strong among his neighbors in Grabels in the Hérault.

One of them, interviewed by The Parisian is the one who discovered the body of the actor on Friday evening in his house, rue des Lavandes, where he had been living since October 2021.

This neighbor, who did not wish to testify under his real name, explains that the gate of the Michel Cordes was ajar “which never happened” and that its shutters “had been closed for days”. “So, with my wife and a neighbor, we went to see what was going on,” he says.

If at first, the three individuals fear a burglary because of “a precedent in the neighborhood”, once inside the home “we immediately understood that something was happening” affirms the man at Parisian.

In the actor’s dining room, the three neighbors discover several letters placed next to each other on a table. “A letter for his daughter, one for the gendarmes and even a letter to the attention of the tax authorities”, specifies Loïc.

While searching the home in search of Michel Cordes, the neighbour, his wife and a neighbor come across the lifeless body of the actor, lying in the courtyard of his home with a red trace at the level of the temple. They then alert the firefighters and then find a revolver a few meters from the actor.

For the time being, the Montpellier prosecutor’s office favors the trail of suicide. According to the deputy prosecutor Jean-Christophe Tixier, questioned by AFP, “Michel Cordes would have voluntarily committed suicide by firearm at his home in Grabels”. An autopsy should be performed this week to confirm this track.
